Finished the lap quilt!

It raised $80! I'm going to take a break from quilting for now. I need to focus on the upcoming deployment.

Almost done with the lap quilt.

This is the quilt top. I still need to sandwich the quilt and bind it.

Hello 2011!

LOL!!! It takes me a whole year to update my blog! LOL!!! Too funny!

Just wanted to let you guys know what I'm doing over here. Mom and Dad came to visit me during the Thanksgiving Week. I was so grateful and happy that they came. We stayed home, made tamales, went to Monticello, D.C., and Mount Vernon. Can you believe there's a building in D.C. dedicated to a "Rios" Dad and I had to represent. LOL! I had such a fun time even thought the weather was cold. Mom lost one of my gold arracadas but she gave me hers to hold until she replaces the one she lost. Dad actually opened up to me A LOT and I couldn't believe how much he shared with me. It was the most we had talked in a really long time.

I had them working on my patio.

Well, ever since mom and dad came to visit me, I've been QUILTING! I am so addicted to it. I've been looking online about Quilting. I went to the library and checked out some books. I bought some books about Quilting. My Quilting Stash "fabric collection" has grown almost overnight. I am going CRAZY over Quilting!

The Quilt that I'm working on is a Jigsaw puzzle quilt. It's basically and H design with an extra block on the sides. I going to give this quilt to someone at work. Each puzzle represents something about this person. The hard part was choosing the fabric and positioning it correctly. This quilt is pretty abstract but I had to get the flow right. There is sort of a story to this quilt but I will share that with you later. It is still a work in progress. Hopefully I will be done sewing it this weekend or at least by Monday night. I am so excited to move on to my next quilt which will be a much smaller quilt. I would like to have the next one one by Saturday but I'm not sure if I will be able to finish it by then.

Well, I'm about to go to bed. It's past my bedtime. It was nice blogging again after a whole year of being away. LOL!!!! Good night!
